We welcome applications from students from all around the world and from a wide variety of educational systems. We do not take into consideration an applicant’s race, religion, national origin, sex or country citizenship in determining admission to the college programs.
The application deadline for foreign students (except ERASMUS) the 31st of July. However, we strongly advice that those applicants who require visas and Temporary Residence Permit (citizens from non-EU countries) should apply at least 4-6 months before this deadline taking into account that visas and Temporary Residence Permit to live in Lithuania procedure might take up to 6 months.
If you wish to be admitted to our undergraduate International Business Management program provided in English, you must have successfully completed 12 years of formal education (secondary education). Also you should have sufficient knowledge of English in order to be able to follow lectures and prepare for them.
Application procedures differ for the applicants from EU counties and those from other countries in all over the world.

A. The application procedure for students from non-EU countries.
Students from non-EU countries that apply to the SMK University of Applied Social Sciences have to apply for visa D, Temporary Residence and Study Permit as well. The procedure is as follows:
1. Submission of an applicant’s documents to the SMK University of Applied Social Sciences via e-mail. An applicant have to present the following documents to the college via admission@smk.lt :
- Application form
- Passport copy
- Copy of Graduation certificate from last secondary school or college (the document must confirm that a person has got secondary education).
- Copy of International certificate of English language test confirming not lower than Intermediate level or equivalent score.
(If graduation documents are in other language than English, they have to be translated into the English language.)
2. Submission of the applicant’s secondary education certificate to the Lithuanian Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (CQAHE) (according to the EU legal regulations applicable in all EU state-members). The applicant has to submit notarized copies of legalized high school graduation certificate and other required documents (see on www.skvc.lt ) to the CQAHE in Lithuania for evaluation procedure. 3. Submission to the SMK University of Applied Social Sciences a copy of the certificate provided to the student by CQAHE in Lithuania.
4. Reassessment of the provided documents in the college. After the college approves that the applicant is offered a place to study in the college, he/she have to send to the college by post:
- original Application Form;
- hard and preferably notarized copies of graduation certificate/documents;
- 2 photos;
- Passport copy (preferably notarized);
- Certificate provided by CQAHE in Lithuania or copy of it;
- Copy of International certificate of English language test.
5. The student pays an application fee to the SMK University of Applied Social Sciences.
6. The selected candidate gets an Invitation Letter where he/she is informed about his/her acceptance to study in the SMK (by e-mail and by regular post) and can begin visa D and Temporary Residence Permit to live in Lithuania procedure.
7. The application procedure for visa D and Temporary Residence Permit to live in Lithuania. The student has to submit these documents to Lithuanian Consulate/Embassy in applicant’s country or closest one:
- Application form for visa D and temporary residence permit in Lithuania.
- Bank warrant about the student’s, his parents’ or guardian’s income (officially declared income) certified by notary;
- Commitment Letter (Affidavit) to sponsor student during his studies in Lithuania signed by his/her parents or guardian and certified by notary;
- Mediation Letter of accepting Lithuanian higher education institution where is confirmed that the applying person is accepted to study in particular Lithuanian higher education institution (prepares SMK).
- Bank warrant’s and commitment letter’s (Affidavit) translated documents into the Lithuanian language. Since these documents can be translated only in Lithuania, they must be sent prior to the SMK and received back after their translation.
In some cases all documents noted above may be submitted to the Consulate/Embassy by post due to applicant’s residence in the other country, but this case of application is not always satisfied, unfortunately; so an applicant has to submit them in person to the Consulate. The time from documents’ submission to Lithuanian Consulate/Embassy and an official answer about approval of Temporary Residence Permit to live in Lithuania may take up to 6 months.
8. The student signs Study Agreement of SMK University of Applied Social Sciences after he/she is informed about approval for Lithuanian visa and Temporary Residence Permit to live in Lithuania.
9. The student pays all necessary fees and payments that are indicated in the Study Agreement to SMK.
10. The student informs SMK about the date of the student’s arrival to Lithuania.
11. The student goes to Lithuanian Consulate to take the visa in person.
12. The student submits originals of the secondary education certificate and certificate of CQAHE in Lithuania to the SMK on his arrival to Lithuania.
13. The student submits required documents, indicated by Lithuanian Consulate, to the Migration Service in Lithuania to receive formal document of Temporary Residence Permit to live in Lithuania.
14. The student submits copy of received original documents of Temporary Residence Permit to the SMK.
B. The application procedure for students from EU countries.
Application procedure for students from EU countries is simple. The procedure is as follows:
1. Submission of an applicant’s documents to the SMK University of Applied Social Sciences via e-mail. An applicant have to present the following documents to the SMK via admission@smk.lt:
- Application form
- Passport or ID card copy
- Copy of Graduation certificate from last secondary school or college (the document must confirm that a person has got secondary education).

10. The student applies to the Migration Service in Lithuania to receive formal document of Temporary Residence Permit to live in Lithuania (students have to do it not later than in 3 months of their stay in Lithuania). Therefore student has to submit to Migration Service:
- Application form (see on http://www.migracija.lt/index.php?477173482)
- Passport or ID card
- The document which indicates that this person is accepted as a student to SMK (SMK will issue it)
- Bank warrant about the student’s incomes certified by notary;
- Copy of health insurance
11. The student submits copy of received original documents of Temporary Residence Permit to the SMK.
