To prepare international-business field specialists, having knowledge of international trade, logistics, customs activity, able to organise independently and responsibly international trade, logistic processes, represent the and moderate for entities in the customs and other institutions, establish and manage an international business company in constantly changing conditions of modern business environment.

Learning outcomes

A graduate of studies will be able:

To apply integrally modern theories of economy and management, by identifying business environment, solving compound economic goals in new and unknown global business environments, while being influenced by the conditions of competition and risk.

To apply knowledge about the processes and tendencies of modern trade, logistics and legal disposition of intellectual property objects, the tax peculiarities of separate customs procedures, while providing mediation services for natural and legal persons.

To apply the national and European Community legislation, regulating declaration of goods, their transportation, implementation of customs procedures and other sanctioned customs actions, performance of customs formalities, while representing the legitimate interests of entities.

To initiate, organize and perform independently applied and interdisciplinary research, aiming to evaluate the environment of international business, as well as to make decisions on using and developing the potential and opportunities of export-import.

To assess the legal environment of constantly changing international business, as well as general customs policy, guided by the principles of European Community law.

To establish a business company, analyse and manage company’s financial, material and human resources, business processes, taking into consideration modern management principles and methods.

To organize international trade, in accordance with legal acts, create sales strategies by applying the political provisions of modern international trade.

To use the standards of commodity description and coding, while identifying the origin and customs value of goods, while counting taxes, providing the services of representation and mediation.

To apply the main principles of logistics in the international business, to manage logistic processes while solving the questions of supply, distribution, transport and storage of goods.

To use applied informational systems, while implementing export, import and transit operations, while managing the movement of goods’ flow in the territory of Community customs and beyond it, while representing natural and legal persons, as well as performing contractual obligations.

To work creatively in a team, generate new ideas, solve problems of international trade and logistics, international interacting and cooperation, while accepting social and ethical responsibility; to negotiate and maintain relations with clients, communicate with business partners.

To perform responsibly and qualified in the area of international trade, to provide logistic services, represent and mediate in institutions, constantly evaluate one’s professional activity, knowledge and experience, to foresee the directions of self-expression and self-development, as well as increase one’s professionalism by performing in the changing environment of international business.

Career opportunities

Graduates of International Trade and Customs Logistics study programme will be able to create, plan and develop an international business company, organize logistic processes, work in companies performing in the areas of customs brokerage, as well as provide representative services for natural and legal persons in business companies and customs institutions.

After graduating from International Trade and Customs Logistics study programme students studies can be continued in Lithuanian and foreign higher schools, implementing II cycle study programmes in the group of Business and Public Management study field. Graduates, aiming at studying in the second cycle studies of business field must conform to the requirements pre-set by the higher school and in the descriptor of the group of study field or fields, have knowledge and abilities necessary for studies in accordance with the programmes of a certain field.

Career Center is an SMK department, which provides individual career planning, work/internship search consultations, helps pupils to make independent, related to studies decisions, and for students – to integrate successfully into study process and labour market, coordinates Alumni Club activity and implements monitoring of graduates, communicates with social partners and representatives of the employers, organises seminars, courses and lectures.
