To prepare business professionals able to identify demand for and opportunities of introducing innovations and new technologies within enterprises and able to manage the projects of implementation of new technologies, innovative products, methods of activity, development of innovative products or new services, assuring competitive and sustainable business development in the country and abroad.

Learning outcomes

After graduating from the studies, a person will be able:

  • To apply the main modern theories of economics, management, finance, risk management, negotiation and business ethics, as well as the EU and national legal acts, regulating business development.
  • To apply essential theories and conceptions, which are the bases of the management of innovations and new technologies as well as strategic guidelines for business development and innovation policy.
  • To apply quantitative and qualitative methods of social research and prepare research instruments.
  • To analyse business changes and identify the needs and opportunities for application of new technologies and innovations in a specific field of activity of business entities.
  • To be able to apply the marketing conceptions of innovative products and services and the features of their application in practical activity.
  • To be able to prepare the strategy of introducing new technologies and innovations, aiming at a company’s competitiveness and sustainable growth.
  • To introduce new technologies, innovations of products and services, while rationally using energy and material resources, applying environment saving principles of management.
  • To coordinate the process of introducing technologies and innovations, through the assessment of arising risks and assurance of the quality of implementation.
  • To be able to reasonable present innovation projects, to cooperate with business partners and customers, through application of the models of an effective communication, to communicate in the mother tongue and a foreign language (English).
  • To use the newest informational technologies, information resources and use databases while implementing projects of creation and implementation of innovative products and services in enterprises.
  • To act creatively and entrepreneurially, to initiate new ideas and suggest solutions to problems, through critical thinking and through application of the principles of a responsible risk.
  • To form a team of introducing innovations and to manage it through application of modern management methods and leadership principles.
  • To think, communicate and present the gained knowledge systematically, critically and creatively.
  • To constantly assess one’s professional activity, knowledge and experience, to foresee the trends of self-expression and self-development and to develop one’s professionalism while acting in a changing business environment.

Study curriculum

General course units of studies: Information and Communication Technologies, Business English, Law Basics and Intellectual Property Law.

Course units of the study field: Management, Creativity Methods, Professional and Business Communication, Innovation Process and Politics, Business Economics, Research Methods, Finance Management, Technology and Innovations Management, Applied Statistics, The World Economics and Globalization, Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Strategic Management and Company Competitiveness, Negotiations and Business Ethics, Risk Management, Introduction of Company Modernization and Technologies, Practice, Higher education Final Pape and other.

Optional course units for deepening knowledge of the study field: Students may choose from study field knowledge deepening course units: Total Quality Management, Knowledge Management, Eco-innovations, Leadership and Change Management, Management of Product Lifecycle, Project Management, Consonant Development and Growth, International Networks of Business, Management of Risk Capital, Transference of Technologies and Commercialization.

Elective course units (EUC): are appointed to interdisciplinary studies or educating general competencies from the list of college elective course units.
The study evaluation: cumulative assessment and a ten-scale assessment system are applied. Programmes of course units foresee certain structural elements of assessment, their weight in the final assessment, the content of certain assessment tasks, criteria and requirements. When applying a cumulative assessment the learning outcomes are assessed by interim assignments. Studies of each course unit end with an examination. Student knowledge and abilities are assessed during the exam session only if during a semester a student implements the requirements and tasks of interim assessment foreseen in the programme of a course unit. Achieved learning outcomes of the study programme students demonstrate while doing a final thesis by the Joint Qualificative Committee.
